Caring for Your Clothes: Tips for Maximizing the Longevity of Your Garments.
Always Check the Care Label:
Consult the care and content label on your clothing for specific instructions on how to care for your gear.
Cold Wash, Air Dry :
Machine wash your clothes in cold water and let them air dry. This helps preserve the life of the LYCRA® fiber and maintains the shape of your gear.
Take Care of Bright Colors :
Wash bright colors alone before wearing them and continue washing them with similar colors. When wet, keep bright colored gear away from other fabrics to prevent color bleeding.
Like with Like :
Turn your clothing inside out and wash it with other synthetic fabrics like Luxtreme, Nulu, etc. Avoid washing your gear with abrasive fabrics such as denim or garments with Velcro® or zippers.
Avoid Mixing Luon with Cotton :
Wash your Luon clothing separately from your hoodies and towels. Cotton fluff, especially from towels, can attach to Luon and cause damage.
Avoid Fabric Softener :
Fabric softener can coat technical fabrics and inhibit their sweat-wicking capabilities. Avoid using it on your workout gear to maximize their performance and longevity.
Washing Instructions:
Luon®, Luxtreme®, Everlux™, Nulu™, Nulux™, Rulu™, Seamless, Swift, Warpstreme™:
- Machine wash cold with similar fabrics.
- Avoid fabric softeners and abrasive fabrics/materials.
- Hang to dry (or tumble dry on low).
Natural blend family, Merino wool, Boolux™, Cashlux™:
- Machine wash cold with similar fabrics.
- Avoid fabric softeners and abrasive fabrics/materials.
- Lay flat to dry.
Outerwear Family:
- Cold wash, tumble dry low.
- Close all zipper and Velcro® closures.
- Use the least amount of detergent possible to clean it effectively—leftover detergent may inhibit the water-repellency.
